Purposeful Planning by Karen Lindwall-Bourg is exactly as it is titled—a “purposeful planning system for Christian Entrepreneurs who desire to achieve extraordinary levels of success worth celebrating.” I am thrilled that Karen has complied all of this into a book. In completing the 31 steps outlined in Purposeful Planning, I now have a plan of action that I know I can complete and achieve success.

Part One: “Prepare to Plan” encompasses much more than just deciding to plan; I have thoroughly prayed and planned for my vision, purpose, values, and dreams. The step-by-step process has enabled me to begin with the right mindset—and then to pick my goal, plot my course of action, and put measures in place to evaluate and motivate me in seeing my plan completed.

Part Two: Through “Plan Purposefully,” daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly best practices have been initiated for my unique plan.

Part Three: “Progress Along the Plan Path” has guided me in setting up action and tracking worksheets which are great motivators for me to stay the course and experience success daily. Additionally, issues that tend to derail my progress have already been addressed, enabling me to spot them quickly and make changes necessary to keep on track.

An essential conclusion to Purposeful Planning is Part Four, “Praises.” Perspective is placed on why I have planned. Success in reaching my goals is why I have planned so diligently. Therefore, I also have a plan to celebrate, rest, rejuvenate, and play in anticipation of

Part Five: “Plan Again.” I will utilize the Purposeful Planning book again and again!

Last December I joined the first Purposeful Planning group. I set aside a day to plan and organize because I felt like my business and life had way too many steps jumbled together to know what to do. The brain dump and organization were done in one BIG day. Creating that plan was one of the greatest aspects of 2019! I then decided to do a marathon and spent 24 hours completing my Purposeful Plan over about four days. The focused energy of designing that plan and executing it made it possible to more than exceed my goals. My “Ta-Done list” included fixing my website and creating content for it; getting my seven journals in print; revising two short books; and creating covers, blogs, and power pages for my business. I am forever grateful for Karen’s Purposeful Planning Program!

This weekend I worked with a couple of friends on Karen’s Purposeful Planning program. What a game-changing experience! I didn’t have a clue as to what to expect and thought it might be something like a business plan, but this program is way more than a plan: it’s a roadmap for life. This roadmap incorporates all seven dimensions of health to complete the whole person instead of just creating another goal sheet.

What excited me about the planning was how it took in the aspects of my life and wasn’t just about achieving professional success but a way to create excitement and fulfillment in my daily life. Here’s the best part – it was fun! I didn’t think planning could be so exciting, really how excited do we get when we think of a planning sheet. When I saw the potential of how the Purposeful Planning program process was going to help shape my future then I got super excited and found joy in being a part of the journey we were on.

If you are looking for a way to design your life and create your own roadmap where you can have purpose and fulfillment over the way you live then I wholeheartedly encourage you to join the Purposeful Planning program. Trust me, it’s not just a plan, it’s a roadmap of creating a life where you are not dictated by your to-do list but by your calling and goals and passions for life. It will be amazing to see how you embrace the excitement and the transformation that awaits you too!

I recently experienced Karen’s Purposeful Planning process during a mini-virtual retreat. The program is designed for business women seeking to use their God-given talents as God directs them. That is admirable and worthy as a valuable means of applying God’s Word when developing a business plan under His direction. The program’s product is a 12-week plan that can be followed confidently.

Purposeful Planning provided the structure I needed and helped me invite the Spirit of God to hover over the waters of God’s grace toward an intentional and strategic plan for the next quarter. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light! He is indeed the health of my countenance and my God. He met my needs and produced Order Out of Chaos. Let There Be Light!

I highly recommend this program and planning process and I purposefully plan to walk through it again each new quarter!

Hi Ladies, I didn’t share much during our writing sessions, so I wanted to share my testimonial for our retreat.

During a discussion about the challenge of marketing the benefit of writing retreats, I commented that it’s almost impossible to articulate such a profound experience. In an instant, my sassy inner scribe squealed gleefully, “Challenge accepted!”

Yes, during the Retreat to Write event, I wrote, but more than that, I met Jesus. He quieted years of trauma, so now I sleep in peace for the first time in decades. Our gracious Jesus replaced my unrest with lifelong friends, so even if our paths never cross again, every sister in Christ left her unique imprint to live in my heart forever. I experienced the music, architecture, literature, food, and worship of a different world. Even though I live only about a thirteen-hour drive away, the minutia in the culture differences made each day a new discovery.

This is not to say that the promise or purpose of the retreat is divine healing, devoted friendships, or daily discovery. As amazing as Karen is, she has no secret itinerary to reproduce such experiences. But she prayerfully seeks and obeys the Lord to offer Him the stage to do what only He can.

So, have I accomplished my mission? Have I found the words to articulate what even I do not yet understand? Perhaps not, but just as Jesus works through Karen’s retreats, so it is with my words. I hope I have at least obediently and prayerfully set the stage for Jesus to tell you if it’s time to pack for your next Retreat to Write.
